About Trees

Last modified: April 2025

Welcome to AboutTrees! We’re thrilled you’re here to explore your tree-related needs. AboutTrees.com (referred to as “AboutTrees,” “we,” or “us”), operates the website abouttrees.com (the “Website”) and offers a tree service connection platform (the “Service”) hosted on the Website. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) outline the legal agreement between you (we’ll call you “you,” “your,” or sometimes “Users” collectively) and AboutTrees. By accessing the Website or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. We may update these Terms occasionally and will do our best to notify you of changes. If you keep using the Website or Service after updates, that means you accept the revised Terms.

The Essentials

What AboutTrees Offers

AboutTrees runs a Website and Service that links tree care professionals (who provide tree services or products) with customers (who need those services or products) to set up arrangements at locations you choose. Our role is simple: we list the details on our Website. These Terms come with our Expectations of Service, which give more insight into how everything works and are part of these Terms by reference. If the Expectations of Service ever clash with these Terms, the Terms win. We don’t promise anything about the quality of services or products, how they’re delivered, or any other details. That means we’re not liable for any issues you run into while using the Service, whether you’re offering or receiving something.

Using the Service and Accounts

Anyone who visits the Website or signs up is a “User” under these Terms. Visitors just browse, while registered Users get a username and password (a “User Account”) after giving us some info. With an account, you can post about your availability to offer or get tree-related services or products. You’re in charge of your account details—keep them safe! We’ll assume anything done through your account is on purpose. If you tell us later your account was hacked, we might still process payments based on what was posted, at our discretion. Let us know right away if you think your account’s been breached. You’re fully responsible for what happens with your account, unless we agree otherwise.

The Network

We provide a peer-to-peer Network (“Network”) where Users can explore local tree service options, see general availability info, and chat with others looking to provide or receive tree services. To join, you opt in through the Service, agreeing to share your User Information as outlined in our Privacy Policy. That means your name, rough location, and details can be seen by others in the Network. Addresses stay vague unless you share specifics directly with another User or ask us to. Asking for info from someone else in the Network means you’re okay with us sharing your contact details with them. Opting in also lets us send you messages from other Network Users. Chats are secure and meant only for tree service purposes—misuse breaks these Terms and could lead to account termination or legal steps. We’re not responsible for any problems, damages, or losses from Network interactions, nor for misuse of info you share. You could be on the hook legally and financially for misusing the Service, so read these Terms carefully.

You agree to protect AboutTrees from any losses, claims, or costs tied to your Network use, including issues from messaging, sharing info, or handling tree services or products.

We only share your contact info with other Network Users if you ask us to—like if you post your location or seek details from someone. You can tweak what’s shared or leave the Network anytime via your account settings. See the Privacy Policy for more, and reach out with questions.

No Cost to Start

The Service is free to use, though some features might involve fees or need a credit card on file for potential charges. You can opt to buy a premium listing for tree services or products if you want (tree care pros might also pay to see listings in certain areas ). Premium listings get a spotlight in the Service, but paying doesn’t: (a) alter the service or product quality or type; (b) change these Terms; or (c) promise faster service or any service at all. Your payments help us keep the Service going and add new features for everyone.

The Details

Licenses and Usage Rules

If you’re 18 or older and have a User Account, we give you a personal, limited, revocable, nonexclusive license to use the Service as long as you follow these Terms. Using it without permission—like for someone else’s benefit, reselling it, or charging others—isn’t allowed. You can’t copy, tweak, sell, or frame our Website or Service content. By posting, you give us a permanent, worldwide, fully paid license to use, copy, display, or adapt your content. Don’t use special software (beyond regular browsers or email tools we approve) to mess with the Service, like for posting or searching. No sneaky, illegal, or spammy posts or emails either. You can’t scrape our content with bots or collect Users’ personal info unless it’s just to provide or receive tree services or products. We can pause, delete, or edit your posts at our discretion.

Fees and Payments

Want to pay for tree services or products? Add your credit card info in your account settings. You let us charge it for the amount you set, but we’ll only do so once the service or product is confirmed delivered. Some features might need a card for extra costs or damages if you break these Terms—you’re okay with us charging it then. Payments are in US dollars, taxes extra, and nonrefundable (where law allows), even if you’re unhappy with what you got.

We don’t keep your full card info—it goes to our payment processor, and we just store the last four digits to track past uses. If we can’t charge your card for something you agreed to pay, we’ll email you. If you don’t fix it fast, your account might get suspended or removed.

Privacy

We value your privacy at AboutTrees. The Service shows a map with approximate locations of Users requesting services or products, but we protect your exact address by: (a) placing markers nearby, not right on your spot; (b) limiting detailed info access to registered tree care pros unless you opt into sharing more; and (c) letting you control your contact details. You decide if your info shows up. Check our Privacy Policy for the full scoop.

User Categories

We’ve got two User types: tree care pros and customers. Both must follow all Terms, plus the extras here.

Tree Care Professionals

Pros sign up as potential service or product providers (“Professional Users”). They can see all listings but might need to pay a $20 service fee (“Service Fee”) per job for some. “Free Services” listings don’t have this fee. We decide where and when fees apply, and Pros can pay with a card on file or credits (see below).

Pros can earn credits instead of paying Service Fees when they help Users with premium listings—listings say if credits apply. Credits aren’t cash; they just offset fees. We control how credits work and can change the rules anytime—keep using the Service, and you agree to updates. Problems like complaints or bad jobs might cancel credits earned.

Pros must act courteously and try to match the quality customers want. Too many complaints or no-shows after agreeing to jobs can lead to account suspension or removal. See the Expectations of Service for tips on quality and standards.

Using the Service means you promise you know and follow all local licensing and rules where you work. If there are restrictions like quarantines, you’ll handle them before providing services or products. You’re responsible for knowing your area’s laws and staying legal—we’re not. You won’t cross county or state lines if it’s against the rules.

You agree to fully indemnify, and cover AboutTrees for any losses or claims from your Service use, including providing services or products.

Customers

Customers sign up to get tree services or products and should read the Expectations of Service to use the Service well and avoid surprises. Paying for a premium listing doesn’t mean faster service—check the Expectations for how it works.

Handling Service or Product Issues

Disputes about services or products are between you and other Users. We might step in on complaints at our discretion to address User behavior, but we’re not liable for what Users do with services or products set up through the Service. Want to take action against AboutTrees? First, email support@abouttrees.com. Before any court filing, we’ll try mediation in Canton Georgia, with a mediator we both pick. If we can’t agree, we each name a mediator, and they choose one. You cover mediation costs.

Liability Limits and No Guarantees

Where law allows: (a) we don’t guarantee the Service’s accuracy, reliability, or uptime; (b) you use it at your own risk, “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”; (c) we’re not responsible for harm from User content, behavior (like pros on-site, property damage, injury, or death), your Service use, or our Website descriptions; (d) we and our team disclaim all implied or express warranties like merchantability or fitness; (e) we’re not liable for indirect, special, or consequential damages or losses (like profit or data), even if we knew the risk; (f) our max liability is $100 or the payment tied to the issue, whichever’s less.

Note: Some places have laws protecting consumer rights that we can’t waive. We follow those; these Terms don’t override them.

Jurisdiction and Venue

Georgia law governs these Terms (ignoring its conflict rules). Any legal action about the Terms or Service goes to state or federal courts in Cobb county Georgia.

Adjustments and Separability

If a court finds part of these Terms illegal or unenforceable, we’ll tweak it just enough to make it legal. If that’s not possible, we’ll cut it out, and the rest stays valid.
